Three of the six vents can be directed to defrost the windshield or directed into the cab for additional warming. There are three vents on the driver side and three vents on the passenger side along with an air intake port that pulls warm air directly from inside the cab. This boosts heating performance when compared to heating cold air from outside the cab. The heater kit is compatible with OEM windshield wiper kits and mounts behind the radiator for a clean looking installation. One differentiating feature of the Ice Crusher kit is the addition of a splash guard bracket that prevents snow from being ingested into the motor which causes moisture to be blown on the windshield. The heater unit draws hot coolant from the engine’s Oil Cooler Bypass and doesn’t require any additional Thermostat Bypass hardware (No MaxStat needed for this Kit).
